Hailed as an installation gamechanger, RevoTile can be installed two times faster than traditional tile, according to the company, which believes the system could be a boon to an industry laboring to find qualified installers.
A live install demonstration by craftsman and celebrity designer Chip Wade at Daltile’s booth at TISE 2020 drew a large attentive crowd.
Daltile’s new RevoTile system adapts its standard porcelain tile offerings to a new floating floor system, designed to allow professionals to install a porcelain tile floor up to two times faster than traditional methods.
Wade, host, designer and contractor on the HGTV and DIY television series Elbow Room, told the crowd, “The pain points with real tile are the thinset and the return time needed to do a quality job. With this [product] there is no lugging in bags of thinset, and carrying pails of thinset upstairs. There are fewer tools and less mess. Imagine being able to eliminate all that. RevoTile does that for us. I’m super excited about it.”
RevoTile can be installed over an existing tiled floor. Neither thinset nor tile spacers are needed. The system has its own specialty underlayment, called RapidPrep, about 1 ml. thick, which acts as a moisture barrier, and has sound-deadening qualities, and requires a one-part urethane grout.
RevoTile is appropriate for residential and light commercial applications, Wade said, and professionals can easily install 1,000+ feet of the tile in a day.
The RevoTile system is available in three sizes—12 by 24, 6 by 24, and 6 by 36 inches—and 26 marble, wood, stone and concrete profiles. Each tile features Daltile's proprietary ClicFit Technology locking system, designed to maintain consistent alignment without lippage. Read More
